Rock Point Books

About Us

Rock Point Books is dedicated to becoming a dominant cultural landmark in downtown Chattanooga. An independent bookstore with a decidedly local flavor and a passion for the written word, Rock Point Books features great reading for adults and children, lively special events and author signings, and unsurpassed service for our customers.

Since Rock Point Books, an independent bookstore located in downtown Chattanooga, opened in November 2006, their goal was to bring a heightened cultural experience to Chattanoogans. Rock Point Books wanted to maintain a local feel – both owners live in Chattanooga – while bringing in authors who are recognized all over the world.

Today, Rock Point Books offers Chattanoogans a cultural experience and has quickly become a favorite spot for both locals and visitors to the area. With more than 10,000 titles, Rock Point Books offers a large selection of classic literature, Southern literature, new releases, nonfiction, history, children’s books, and more.

Our goal is to provide a cultural space for readers and writers to come together and celebrate literature. Learn about upcoming author readings and signings, kids' events, book clubs and more on our Events Page.

Rock Point Books’ 5,000-square-foot interior has 21-foot-high ceilings, an elevated stage and a seating area that accommodates approximately 150 people. An audio system, including three microphones and a PA with two large speakers in front of the stage, is used for every reading.

There is always something for everyone, even kids, so come on over to Rock Point Books and join in!
